<p>However, a revitalized Egyptian side emerged after the interval following a stern halftime talk from head coach Hossam Hassan. Mostafa Zico initiated the turnaround just before the hour mark, capitalizing on poor marking to head home Mohamed Hany&#8217;s precise cross.</p>



<p>Ten minutes later, Salah came alive during a rapid counterattack. The forward traded quick passes with Zico before sweeping a trademark finish past Max Crocombe. Salah then turned provider, delivering a corner that substitute Trezeguet dived to head home, sealing the points.</p>



<p>While post-match player quotes were unavailable, Sky Sports summarized the tactical shift perfectly, noting that under Hassan&#8217;s guidance, Egypt&#8217;s second-half &#8220;attacks carried menace, forcing New Zealand to sit deeper and deeper&#8221; to put the knockout stages within touching distance.</p>

Salah Inspires Historic Egypt Victory


<p>Tottenham Hotspur are looking to usher in a bold new era under manager Roberto De Zerbi by launching a club-record pursuit of Newcastle United talent Sandro Tonali.</p>



<p>Following two dismal campaigns that saw Spurs finish 17th and narrowly avoid relegation, the Lillywhites’ management have promised significant financial backing to overhaul the squad and implement De Zerbi’s high-tempo football style.</p>



<p>The 26-year-old midfielder has reportedly agreed to personal terms on a long-term contract, eager to link up with his Italian compatriot in North London. To secure the Italian international playmaker, Tottenham are prepared to shatter their previous transfer record – the £55 million they paid for Tanguy Ndombele in 2019 – with an internal valuation estimated between £80 million and £85 million. Although Newcastle value Tonali closer to £100 million, strict Financial Fair Play pressures may force them to negotiate.</p>

<p>Cole Palmer has sparked debate on social media after being surprisingly omitted from Thomas Tuchel’s 26-man England squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.</p>



<p>The 24-year-old playmaker scored 11 English Premier League goals during a difficult, trophyless campaign with Chelsea, despite being a standout performer for the Three Lions at Euro 2024, a dip in consistency and minor injuries.</p>



<p>While his international teammates endure double training sessions in sweltering Miami heat ahead of their World Cup fixtures, Palmer has chosen to escape the spotlight.</p>



<p>On Tuesday, 16 June, the forward shared a relaxed nine-photo Instagram post from Ibiza, where he was seen lounging with friends and sharing brands on a bright yellow sofa, accompanied by the defiant caption, “Could be worse.”</p>



<p>Former England striker Daniel Sturridge expressed surprise at the exclusion of both Palmer and Manchester City’s Phil Foden, though he backed Tuchel’s brave vision.&nbsp;</p>



<p>“Ultimately we have to respect what the manager’s vision is for the squad,” Sturridge recently told a sports publication.</p>



<p>For Palmer, the enforced summer break offers crucial mental and physical recovery before reporting for full Chelsea pre-season duties.</p>

Palmer Shrugs Off World Cup Snub


<p>Norway marked their 26-year return to major tournament football with a commanding 4-1 victory over Iraq in Boston, Massachusetts, on Tuesday, 16 June.</p>



<p>The European side took the lead after 29 minutes when Manchester City striker Erling Haaland converted David Moller Wolfe&#8217;s cross. Iraq responded remarkably through Aymen Hussein, who rose magnificently to plant a header past Orjan Nyland. It was only the second World Cup goal in Iraq&#8217;s history, following a grueling 21-match qualification campaign.</p>



<p>However, parity lasted just three minutes. Iraqi goalkeeper Jalal Hassan delayed clearing a backpass, allowing the alert Haaland to block the clearance straight into the net.</p>



<p>Norway dominated the second half. Substitute Leo Ostigard extended the advantage by heading home a corner from captain Martin Odegaard. In stoppage time, intense pressure from Haaland forced Hussein to bundle the ball into his own line, sealing a comfortable win that places Norway top of Group I on goal difference.</p>



<p>Despite the defeat, Iraq head coach Graham Arnold praised the clinical opposition striker, stating: “You’re one of the best number nines I&#8217;ve ever seen.”</p>



<p>Norway now prepare to face African powerhouses Senegal in their next group fixture.</p>

<p><strong>Pep Guardiola</strong></p>



<p>Guardiola was a key player in Barcelona’s most famous European Cup-winning “Dream Team” that won the club&#8217;s first European Cup in 1992. In the same year, he won Olympic gold with Spain, followed by 4 successive La Liga titles from 1991 to 1994.</p>



<p>When he hung up his boots, he created his own Barcelona dream team, and has just left managing Manchester City. As a player, he won 16 trophies, while the Spaniard currently holds third place in the race for manager with most trophies in history with his 27-trophy haul.</p>
