<p>UEFA has sanctioned Tottenham Hotspur following an investigation into discriminatory actions by supporters during their 2-0 Champions League victory against Eintracht Frankfurt.</p>



<p>The governing body imposed a €30 000 fine for “the racist and/or discriminatory behaviour of its supporters” and an additional €2 250 penalty for the throwing of objects in Frankfurt, Germany, on 28 January.</p>



<p>Furthermore, the club received a one-match ban on selling tickets to away fans, which is suspended for a one-year probationary period.</p>



<p>Working alongside German and Metropolitan police, Spurs identified three individuals who performed Nazi salutes. The club issued indefinite bans to the trio, describing the incident as “utterly abhorrent.”</p>



<p>In an official statement, a club spokesperson said: “The disgusting behaviour of a minority of so-called fans on the night is in no way reflective of the values of our club and its supporters.”</p>



<p>While the ban remains suspended unless a repeat offence occurs within twelve months, the ruling follows a similar recent investigation involving Real Madrid supporters.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Tottenham are now preparing for their Round of 16 tie against Atletico Madrid, with the away leg scheduled for 10 March.</p>

<p>Igor Tudor has admitted that rescuing Tottenham Hotspur from a shock English Premier League (EPL) relegation is the “toughest challenge” of his managerial career.</p>



<p>Following a 4-1 North London derby defeat to Arsenal, Spurs sit 16th in the EPL, a mere four points above the drop zone.</p>



<p>The 47-year-old Croatian interim manager, who recently replaced Thomas Frank, has inherited a squad winless in nine league matches and decimated by an injury crisis. Despite the financial threat of a £260m revenue collapse, Tudor is demanding a total shift in philosophy to ensure survival.&nbsp;</p>



<p>He has called for the squad to adopt the “mentality of a small team,” prioritising gritty results over their traditional identity. “The style is second because it&#8217;s a question of life and death, if I can say that sportingly,” Tudor explained.</p>



<p>While Pedro Porro and Kevin Danso are set to return for the trip to Fulham, critics like Jamie O’Hara remain unconvinced, suggesting the players “haven’t got the stomach for a relegation fight.”</p>



<p>With eleven games remaining, Tudor insists that “hard work” is the only solution to navigate this unprecedented emergency and secure the club&#8217;s top-flight status.</p>

<p>Real Madrid reached the Champions League last 16 after a 2-1 victory over Benfica, securing a 3-1 aggregate win on Wednesday, 25 February.</p>



<p>Despite an early opener from Benfica’s Rafa Silva, the Spanish giants responded instantly through Aurelien Tchouameni. Vinícius Junior later capitalised on a defensive error to seal the result.</p>



<p>The fixture was charged following allegations that Vinicius was racially abused by Gianluca Prestianni in the first leg. Prestianni was banned for the return match, while Jose Mourinho watched from the stands following a red card.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Reflecting on the atmosphere, Tchouameni stated: “I think there are more important things than this match, than football.”</p>



<p>The club also acted swiftly against internal issues, ejecting a member for a Nazi salute. Despite the absence of the injured Kylian Mbappe and a late injury to Raul Asencio, Madrid held firm.&nbsp;</p>



<p>After celebrating his winning goal with a dance, Vinicius later shared his defiance on Instagram, posting: “the dance goes on.”</p>



<p>Thibaut Courtois, whose saves proved vital, supported his teammate’s resilience, saying: “I’m happy that Vini’s dancing, still dancing, because it means he’s scoring goals.”</p>

<p>The United Kingdom Football Policing Unit (UKFPU) has launched investigations into a surge of racial abuse targeting four English Premier League (EPL) players.</p>



<p>Over one weekend in February 2026, Wesley Fofana, Hannibal Mejbri, Tolu Arokodare, and Romaine Mundle reported receiving vitriolic messages.</p>



<p>A spokesperson for the British Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, described the abuse as “abhorrent”, a sentiment echoed by UKFPU Chief Constable Mark Roberts. Roberts warned offenders they cannot |hide behind their keyboards”, noting a 115% increase in reports this season.</p>



<p>Despite these investigations, players expressed deep scepticism. Chelsea’s Fofana shared his frustration, stating: “2026, it’s still the same thing, nothing changes. These people are never punished.”</p>



<p>Burnley’s Mejbri added: “Educate yourself and your kids, please.”</p>



<p>While the charity Kick It Out reports that online incidents now account for 38% of all discrimination cases, authorities point to the upcoming sentencing of Nigel Dewale for abusing defender Jess Carter as proof of progress.&nbsp;</p>
