<p>Mohamed Salah has confirmed he will leave Liverpool at the end of the 2025/26 season, bringing a glittering nine-year tenure to a close.</p>



<p>The 33-year-old winger released an emotional farewell video across social media on Tuesday, 24 March, in which he stated: “Because of all of you, I will never walk alone.”</p>



<p>Since joining from Roma in 2017, Salah has become a foundational pillar of Liverpool’s modern success, not to mention raising the popularity of the club amongst his fellow Egyptian countrymen.</p>



<p>His time at Anfield saw him score 255 goals in 435 appearances – 3rd on the club’s all-time list – and win a plethora of trophies: two Premier League titles (2019/20 and 2024/25), a Champions League trophy (2019) and four English Premier League Golden Boots.</p>



<p>The departure comes after a complex season marked by a public rift with head coach Arne Slot. To facilitate his exit as a free agent, Salah reportedly forfeited the final year of his £400 000-a-week wages.</p>



<p>While Saudi Pro League and Major League Soccer clubs are rumoured to be orbiting the Reds legend, his agent, Ramy Abbas, insists no future destination has been decided. As Anfield prepares for an emotional send-off, Salah remains focused on securing further silverware in the Football Association Cup and UEFA Champions League.</p>

<p>The footballing community has rallied around John Toshack following confirmation from his son, Cameron, that the former Liverpool and Wales striker has been diagnosed with dementia.</p>



<p>The 77-year-old is a towering figure in British sport. Under Bill Shankly at Anfield, he won three league titles and a European Cup. His managerial career was equally distinguished; he famously guided Swansea City from the Fourth to the First Division and secured a La Liga title with Real Madrid.</p>



<p>While his short-term memory is fading, Cameron noted that his father’s tactical mind remains extraordinarily sharp when discussing his historic career. “The game could have been yesterday, his memory was so clear,&#8221; Cameron Toshack said when describing his father&#8217;s ability to recall specific match details. Despite the diagnosis, the veteran coach continues to offer guidance to his son, who currently coaches in Thailand.</p>



<p>Toshack’s legacy includes nurturing Wales’ “Golden Generation”, giving debuts to icons like Gareth Bale. This news follows a 2022 health battle with pneumonia.&nbsp;</p>



<p>“It’s a terrible disease,” his son told a local publication, noting that while there are difficult days, his father’s footballing DNA remains intact.</p>

Football Legend John Toshack Diagnosed with Dementia


<p>Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have requested that the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) postpone their high-stakes Ligue 1 clash with RC Lens, currently set for 11 April.</p>



<p>The fixture sits between two critical Champions League matches against Liverpool. PSG argue that European success boosts France’s UEFA coefficient, noting they received similar assistance before defeating Chelsea 8-2 on aggregate.</p>



<p>However, second-placed Lens – trailing the leaders by one point – have reacted furiously. The club fears a 15-day competitive void followed by intense fixture congestion.&nbsp;</p>



<p>“It appears that a worrying trend is taking shape: that the French league is being relegated to a mere variable that can be adjusted to the European demands of certain clubs,” a Lens statement explained.</p>



<p>They further labeled the request “unsportsmanlike”, arguing it undermines the domestic competition’s integrity.</p>



<p>While Liverpool host Fulham on the same weekend, PSG remain “relaxed” as the French authorities hold the final say. Strasbourg have also sought a delay for their Brest fixture to prepare for Mainz in the Conference League.</p>



<p>Ultimately, the LFP must decide if continental ambitions outweigh the fairness of the domestic title race.</p>

<p>Tottenham Hotspur are facing a historic crisis after a 3-0 home loss to Nottingham Forest left them 17th in the English Premier League on Sunday, 22 March.</p>



<p>Despite a £1 billion stadium, Spurs now possess the division’s worst home record, having failed to win a league match in 2026.</p>



<p>Igor Jesus opened the scoring before half-time, with Morgan Gibbs-White and Taiwo Awoniyi completing the rout. Tactical decisions by interim manager Igor Tudor drew heavy criticism, particularly the half-time withdrawal of Micky van de Ven.</p>



<p>Assistant coach Bruno Saltor defended the move, stating, “it was a sub with the intention to give more dynamic on the left side.”</p>



<p>The atmosphere turned toxic as fans booed goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, who struggled while playing through a hernia injury. The defeat leaves Tottenham just one point above the relegation zone with seven matches remaining.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Captain Cristian Romero admitted the gravity of the situation, telling an international publication: “It’s painful, it’s a bad day, but the most important thing is to go away to national teams, come back here and have seven finals.”</p>



<p>Spurs next face Sunderland on 12 April, knowing any further slip-ups could result in their first relegation since 1977.</p>

<p>Arsenal and Manchester City arrive at Wembley in London, England, for a Carabao Cup final that could dictate the momentum of the English Premier League (EPL) title race this Sunday, 22 March.</p>



<p>With a nine-point lead at the top of the table, the Gunners have established themselves as the most solid and controlling team in Europe, underpinned by a remarkable record of 25 clean sheets this season.</p>



<p>In contrast, City enter the final following a bruising European exit and a significant dip in form. A primary concern for Pep Guardiola is the recent slump of Erling Haaland, whose scoring efficiency has dropped off a cliff since the turn of the year.</p>



<p>This leaves the City manager with a difficult tactical choice: persist with his star striker or pivot to a more fluid attacking system.</p>



<p>While Arsenal’s form is undeniable, the squad lacks the extensive trophy-winning experience found in the City dugout. Guardiola’s 4-2-2-2 formation has appeared vulnerable at times recently, but a victory on Sunday could be the spark City need to revive their season.</p>
