<p>Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee has given the go-ahead for a move to Juventus after a difficult two-year spell at Old Trafford.</p>



<p>The 25-year-old Netherlands international arrived from Bologna in the summer of 2024 for £36.5 million but has struggled to find his footing in the English Premier League, managing just five top-flight goals in 56 appearances. Zirkzee started only one match under manager Michael Carrick last season, and is eager to revive his career with a return to Serie A.</p>



<p>Driven by Juventus’ new head of football, Ricky Massara, the Bianconeri have received an “initial yes” from the striker’s representatives. The Turin giants are seeking an attacking overhaul and hope to pair Zirkzee alongside Paris Saint-Germain’s Randal Kolo Muani.</p>



<p>United are reportedly open to a sale to raise transfer funds for additional midfield targets. The Red Devils value the Dutchman between €35 million and €40 million and are open to a permanent deal or a loan featuring a conditional obligation to buy.</p>



<p>Zirkzee is apparently excited at the upcoming news, which is bound to be revealed before the end of next week.</p>

<p>Bournemouth have turned down a £64m offer from Chelsea for midfielder Alex Scott, insisting the 22-year-old is not for sale despite him rejecting multiple contract extension offers.</p>



<p>The England international, who has two years remaining on his current deal, is valued by the Cherries at £80m. Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham, and Manchester City have also shown keen interest, with Arsenal seeing an initial approach rejected in June.</p>



<p>Having qualified for the Europa League following a sixth-place finish, Bournemouth face no financial pressure to sell. New manager Marco Rose remains determined to retain his star player alongside in-demand teammates Junior Kroupi and Rayan.</p>



<p>Speaking about the young talent, Rose stated: “I think Alex knows what he has with this club, and it&#8217;s always about the right moment to do the next step.”</p>



<p>Scott’s impressive performances – which nearly earned him a spot in England&#8217;s World Cup squad – have made him a primary target in a hectic transfer market. Alex Scott: Bournemouth Stand Firm Against Big Six Bids


<p>Southampton head coach Tonda Eckert faces a potential six to twelve-month ban after being charged with three misconduct breaches by the Football Association.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The 33-year-old German stands accused of directing covert spying operations on opponent training sessions involving Middlesbrough, Ipswich Town, and Oxford United between December 2025 and May 2026.</p>



<p>The scandal previously led to the English Football League expelling Saints from last season&#8217;s Championship play-offs and imposing a four-point deduction for the upcoming campaign. Independent findings described the espionage as a top-down plan, with leaked messages showing Eckert favoured the gathered intelligence whilst junior analysts felt pressured into unethical behaviour.</p>



<p>The fallout grew severe enough for Eckert to receive police protection following threats. Admitting his mistake, the manager accepted full accountability. “I am responsible and I apologise for bad judgement,” said Eckert.</p>



<p>Despite the ongoing investigation, club owner Dragan Solak and Southampton remain fully behind their manager. Expressing unwavering backing, Solak remarked: “I can support him even if he&#8217;s banned, but I can&#8217;t make him manage if he&#8217;s banned.”</p>

<p>The Argentine national football team sparked widespread international backlash following controversial actions following their 1-0 defeat to Spain in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, 19 July 2026.</p>



<p>Tensions boiled over immediately after the final whistle when several Argentine players instigated physical altercations on the pitch. Video footage showed midfielder Leandro Paredes grabbing Spain defender Eric García by the throat before knocking substitute Gavi to the ground, while defender Nahuel Molina physically struck Spain captain Rodri. FIFA officially opened disciplinary proceedings on Monday, 20 July 2026, confirming that an ethics and disciplinary prosecutor has been appointed to investigate the post-match scuffles.</p>



<p>The controversy deepened during the post-game ceremony. After Spain provided a respectful guard of honour for Argentina to receive their runner-up medals, the Argentine squad drew widespread accusations of disrespect by turning their backs to the podium as Spain lifted the World Cup trophy.</p>



<p>These events followed separate outrage involving team celebrations after Argentina&#8217;s 2024 Copa América victory on Sunday, 14 July 2024. Live social media footage broadcast by midfielder Enzo Fernández showed players singing discriminatory chants targeting French players. Fernández’s Chelsea teammate Wesley Fofana publicly denounced the video on Tuesday, 16 July 2024, as &#8220;uninhibited racism&#8221;, prompting Fernández to issue an official apology on Wednesday, 17 July 2024, stating: &#8220;There is absolutely no excuse for these words. I stand against discrimination in all forms and apologise for getting caught up in the euphoria of our celebrations&#8221;.</p>

Argentina Faces Backlash Over Behaviour


<p>Argentina pulled off a dramatic second half fightback to defeat rivals England 2-1 in a fiery FIFA World Cup semi-final in Atlanta, Georgia, booking their place in this weekend’s final.</p>



<p>England seemed destined for their first World Cup final since 1966 after Anthony Gordon broke the deadlock in the 55th minute. In response, England manager Thomas Tuchel switched to a defensive line to protect the lead. However, this tactical shift backfired, allowing Argentina to mount a relentless late assault on Jordan Pickford’s goal.</p>
