<p>Tottenham Hotspur are facing a historic crisis after a 3-0 home loss to Nottingham Forest left them 17th in the English Premier League on Sunday, 22 March.</p>



<p>Despite a £1 billion stadium, Spurs now possess the division’s worst home record, having failed to win a league match in 2026.</p>



<p>Igor Jesus opened the scoring before half-time, with Morgan Gibbs-White and Taiwo Awoniyi completing the rout. Tactical decisions by interim manager Igor Tudor drew heavy criticism, particularly the half-time withdrawal of Micky van de Ven.</p>



<p>Assistant coach Bruno Saltor defended the move, stating, “it was a sub with the intention to give more dynamic on the left side.”</p>



<p>The atmosphere turned toxic as fans booed goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, who struggled while playing through a hernia injury. The defeat leaves Tottenham just one point above the relegation zone with seven matches remaining.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Captain Cristian Romero admitted the gravity of the situation, telling an international publication: “It’s painful, it’s a bad day, but the most important thing is to go away to national teams, come back here and have seven finals.”</p>



<p>Spurs next face Sunderland on 12 April, knowing any further slip-ups could result in their first relegation since 1977.</p>

<p>Arsenal and Manchester City arrive at Wembley in London, England, for a Carabao Cup final that could dictate the momentum of the English Premier League (EPL) title race this Sunday, 22 March.</p>



<p>With a nine-point lead at the top of the table, the Gunners have established themselves as the most solid and controlling team in Europe, underpinned by a remarkable record of 25 clean sheets this season.</p>



<p>In contrast, City enter the final following a bruising European exit and a significant dip in form. A primary concern for Pep Guardiola is the recent slump of Erling Haaland, whose scoring efficiency has dropped off a cliff since the turn of the year.</p>



<p>This leaves the City manager with a difficult tactical choice: persist with his star striker or pivot to a more fluid attacking system.</p>



<p>While Arsenal’s form is undeniable, the squad lacks the extensive trophy-winning experience found in the City dugout. Guardiola’s 4-2-2-2 formation has appeared vulnerable at times recently, but a victory on Sunday could be the spark City need to revive their season.</p>



<p>Conversely, a win for Mikel Arteta’s side would secure their first major trophy since 2020 and provide a massive psychological boost for the final sprint of the season.</p>

Arsenal vs Man City: More Than a Trophy at Stake


<p>Arsenal&#8217;s search for a clinical striker has hit a significant snag following comments from the camp of Inter Milan starlet Pio Esposito. </p>



<p>Despite reported interest from Mikel Arteta and initial contacts from Manchester United, the 20-year-old forward’s representative has firmly ruled out a summer move to the English Premier League.</p>



<p>His agent, Mario Giuffredi, dismissed the Arsenal links during a local radio interview on Tuesday, 17 March.</p>



<p>&#8220;[He] is happy at Inter and will be the club’s future for the next ten years,&#8221; he said. &#8220;The boy is in love with Inter right now.&#8221;</p>



<p>With a contract running until 2030, Inter holds total control. Arsenal must now pivot to alternative targets, such as Brentford’s Kevin Schade, as they look to bolster an attack that recently struggled in their Champions League exit.</p>



<p>Esposito has enjoyed a breakout season at the San Siro after a productive loan spell at Spezia last year. His rising market worth – now valued at €35 million – reflects his elite potential. While he has occasionally struggled with clinical finishing this term, his underlying metrics, including eight goals and six assists in all competitions, have earned him a call-up to Gennaro Gattuso’s Italy national squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 play-offs.</p>

Arsenal Keen on Young Inter Milan Striker


<p>Morocco were officially crowned 2025 Africa Cup of Nations champions on Tuesday, 17 March, after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) overturned the result of the January final.</p>



<p>The initial match on 18 January saw Senegal win 1-0 in extra time. However, the game was marred by a 15-minute walk-off led by coach Pape Thiaw following a disputed penalty. Despite returning to finish the match, CAF’s appeal board ruled that Senegal “infringed article 82” and “forfeited the final match”.</p>



<p>The official record now stands as a 3-0 Moroccan victory. While the Moroccan federation (FRMF) claimed the appeal was a “request for the application of the competition’s regulations”, Senegal remains defiant.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Defender Moussa Niakhate posted a photo of the trophy on Instagram with the caption, “Come and get them.”</p>



<p>Two months after a million fans celebrated in Dakar, Senegal’s federation has vowed to take the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, calling the ruling “an unfair, unprecedented and unacceptable decision which brings discredit to African football.”</p>

Morocco Awarded AFCON Title After Senegal Forfeit


<p>Brentford’s pursuit of a historic European finish suffered a setback as they squandered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with bottom-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday, 16 March.</p>



<p>After a pre-match video mocked pundits who predicted their relegation, the Bees initially looked clinical. Michael Kayode headed home his first English goal before Brazil-bound Igor Thiago doubled the lead with his 19th of the season.</p>



<p>However, Adam Armstrong’s superb strike before the interval – aided by a controversial unpunished backpass – transformed the contest. Tolu Arokodare eventually levelled from the bench, even hitting the bar as Wolves chased a rare away win. Despite the comeback, Wolves remain 12 points from safety.</p>



<p>Reflecting on the missed opportunity to move within a point of sixth-placed Chelsea, Brentford head coach Keith Andrews noted: “We need to manage the game better, perform better in the second half, deal with whatever way the game flows and try to mature a bit more.”</p>



<p>Meanwhile, Wolves boss Rob Edwards praised his side’s resilience: &#8220;It’s obviously a really difficult situation we’re in but it’s certainly a lot better if we’re showing the fight and the quality and getting results than if we were giving up.”</p>
